This decanter is great. I like the shape of it, great for oxidizing the wine which gives you a better taste of wine. You can also add smoky texture into wine by using its additional tool wooden smoker.
The media could not be loaded. This wine decante and smoker set is absolutely beautiful and tasteful! It’s so well-made and we’ll-packaged. The perfect gift for yourself or someone who enjoys a tasteful drink! I highly recommend this!
This kit contains a decanter, smoke infusion bowl, cherry wood chips and cleaning brushes. I used the cherry smoke with a whiskey and it tastes great. I do wish the decanter would seal shut after use though. I think the decanter spout/aerator is more designed for wine but I could be wrong.
This decanter/cocktail smoking kit is really nice and well packaged. As a decanter it is well designed, with a quality glass and aerator top, large flared base. As a cocktail smoker it could use a small butane torch and another bottle of different wood chips or two. However, it is a good starting point, and it can smoke a large amount of spirits rather than most sets designed to smoke one glass, so good for groups settings and someone who wants to try cocktail smoking. Just need to get a torch. The set is well packaged and the presentation is nice when you open the box. It comes with a bendable brush to clean the decanter as well as a smaller brush to clean the smoker screen. This set makes for a great gift!
This is a very nice decanter! It's very classy looking and is well made!
The whole kit comes very well packaged and protected.It can be used as a regular decanter, but the fun is all in the smoking process. It's very entertaining to watch and the smoke adds a nice flavor to the drink.I like it more than the single-glass smokers because it saves a lot of time. Do it once and done!It does NOT come with a torch so, if you buy this as a gift, you might want to add the torch to it so who receives it won't be disappointed.
Ok I got this to give as a gift, but I now want one for myself, the decanter is lightweight but the large body does great for aeration. PLUS It comes with an aerator too!! The wood burner fits perfectly over the decanter and also supplied is a small container of wood chips. Its DOES NOT come with a torch, but the friends we gifted this to are foodies so they had one. Letting the smoke permeate sweeter whiskeys has been a joy, and I look forward to visiting our friends and making many more unique concoctions.
I recently purchased another decanter very similar to this one, for roughly the same price, and I love it. When I have company over we often have a couple of bottles of wine out to meet the different tastes of my guests. When I saw this I had to try it out, not least because it has a smoker and I've been seeing 'smoked cocktails' pop up in some of the media I follow. Plus, I enjoy a tipple of whiskey every now and then so figured this would allow me to try that out.I strictly use the decanter for whine as I have other decanters for whiskey. The decanter is actually pretty heavy duty and has easy handled multiple trips in teh dishwasher (takes forever to dry though due to the shape)).The aeration works exactly as I expected, which is to say very well. I also swill the entire decanter after the wine is poured in, something this style of decanter handles with aplomb. We tend to try a sip of wine pre-aeration, then a small amount post. If it responds well to aeration then it goes into the decanter.I used the smoker on a whisky glass with some Four Roses single cask and I was pleasantly surprised. The smoker works very well (place it on the glass, wood chips into the basket, light it, put the lid on, let it do it's thing). It will take some experimentation to figure out just how much wood to use. Also, I recommend keeping a dish handy to set the smoker on when done. I don't think it will make a mess, but better safe than sorry.This package set is a great deal in my opinion and I very much recommend!
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this product as a gift for my friend. He loved it. The product is looking so royal and it's very interesting usage process.
I have a single serve cocktail smoker which I, and all of my guests love to use. The problem is that it takes a while to make 4-6 cocktails using the 2 smoker covers that I have (smoking gun style). With the decanter, I can make a whole batch of cocktails and then pour them into the glasses after smoking. On the downside, I do feel that the drink is less smoky this way but not too significant of a difference. Its possible that the smoke flavor sticks to the glass in some way ( I am not a chemist so I can only hypothesize that something like this happens). But the time/labor saving feature of the decanter makes up for that difference. Either way, the smoke is the highlight of the show both from a visual standpoint and an olfactory experience (YUMMY CHERRY!)As far as using the decanter for wine. I am a fan of the filter/aerator. I am not sure if it is placebo or not but it does seem to open up the wine a little bit.Great product to help you be a great host... or enjoy by yourself!
Love the decanter, I'm not sure how much I will add the add ons that came with it as I really just wanted a nice decanter for the holidays, or if I even know how to use the wood chips and all that extra. But overall is a very nice piece for your barware set up and for entertaining.
Sent this to my DIL for Christmas and she called me because she was so excited. My son had one for smoking bourbon but because this one was for wine, which she likes to drink, I knew she would like this. She said it was very well packaged and the decanter was beautiful. It comes with cherry chips, you have to use your own torch but my son had one with his kit so not a problem that there was not one in this kit. She was going to bring it with her to a New Years Eve party and buy more chips to try other flavors.

I bought this for a whiskey-loving friend but took a peak before giving it away. The smoker is a really interesting concept, and everything is packaged well and looks high quality.
So - we actually have a couple of "smoker" kits. Most are functional - put the "cap" over a glass of scotch, add wood chips - torch and seal.THIS kit for company - for entertaining - because of course it has the nice decanter - to add enough whiskey, scotch (or whatever) for many guests. And the "smoker" not only infuses the aromatic chip flavoring, it does so in an entertaining way. (also - it should be noted - if you are serving 3,4,5,6 people - then you don't have to repeat the process for each glass - which is a pain in the neck)And this setup comes with a nice filter. I'm no expert, so I am not sure I can taste the filtered difference.But this does not come with the torch ... (the product description is pretty obvious) but just FYI.Overall - A+ - for taste, looks, functionality. Next time, we're buying it as a gift - but we're keeping this one for holiday entertaining.
