Applewood Kissed Avocado Bread


  • 1 ½ a tsp of baking powder
  • 1 large ripe avocado
  • ½ a tsp of baking soda
  • 1 tsp of lemon juice
  • ¾ a cup of sugar
  • ½ a tsp of kosher salt
  • ½ a cup of half and half
  • ½ a tsp of pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups of almond flour
  • 1 large egg 
  • Applewood chips


  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Use cooking spray on a 9x5 loaf pan.
  • Mix your dry ingredients, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl, then set aside.
  • Mash avocado with lemon juice in a large bowl, then add sugar, half-and-half, vanilla and egg and mix until combined. Add the flour mixture and stir until fully incorporated. 
  • Pour batter into the loaf pan and bake for 45 - 55 minute or until browned and the toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely. 
  • Cover the loaf with the smoking dome. Connect the smoking gun hose and get ready to smoke.
  • Load the smoking gun with applewood chips, connect the hose to the smoking dome, turn on the gun and ignite the wood chips.
  • Once your dome is full of smoke, turn off the gun and let it infuse for 30 seconds.
  • Serve for breakfast or lunch with your favorite butter or cheese!
