Being Vegan is not only a choice, it’s a lifestyle that promotes awareness against animal cruelty as well as a healthy diet. Many people in this community feel like there aren’t many options given to them in terms of kitchen appliances. That’s why we’ve created some vegan air fryer recipes with you in mind.

Here at Homia we want to make kitchen assistance for people with different lifestyles and eating habits. Our Droid air fryer  is the newest member of the Homia appliances family. This an all new air fryer never seen in the market before! No more shaking and stirring in the middle of cooking! Droid is super easy to clean too!

Air frying is oil free and can provide you with the best air fryer recipes and comfort food out there without suffering the consequences. So we’ve put together an “assortment...” get it, assortment! But all jokes aside we have a variety of Droid air fryer vegetarian recipes, air fryer vegetable recipes, air fryer tips, air fryer vegan desserts recipes and air fryer dinner recipes!

We’ll be talking so much about this air fryer you’ll be air frying in your dreams! So without further adieu, here are 19 vegan recipes you will most definitely love so much that you’ll be calling Droid “the vegan air fryer.”

1. Fried Brussel Sprouts: (Buffalo or Teriyaki Style)

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup brussel sprouts (I used frozen brussel sprouts that I thawed)
  • 1 tsp corn starch + 1 tsp water
  • 1/4 a cup bread crumbs OR almond flour (use almond flour for gluten-free. For crispier result, I would use bread crumbs).
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika

Sauce of choice – for buffalo use Frank’s Hot Sauce (or hot sauce of your preference) Use teriyaki & sriracha sauce for asian style.

Instructions:

  • On a plate, mix together 1/4 a cup of bread crumbs OR almond flour along with 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder and 1 teaspoon of paprika.
  • In a small bowl, mix together cornstarch and water.
  • With one hand, dip each individual brussel sprout in the cornstarch mixture and coat well. Then with your other hand, roll the brussel sprout in the bread crumb/almond flour mixture until nicely coated. Repeat until all the brussel sprouts have been coated.
  • Place them into the air fryer for 15 minutes at 375 degrees F.
  • Once they are finished, you can toss them with the sauce of your choice. (Optional) Use Frank’s Hot Sauce for the Buffalo style and a mix of teriyaki and sriracha for the Spicy Teriyaki.
  • Dinner is served!

2. Korean Fried Tofu:

Ingridients: 

  • 1 block extra firm tofu
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup almond flour OR bread crumbs
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Sauce:

  • 1 tbsp gochujang (Korean red hot pepper paste)
  • 1/2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 4 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder (or you can use 1 clove of fresh minced garlic)

Instructions:

  • Press your tofu to take out some of the liquid for about 10-20 minutes.
  • Cut up your tofu into small bite sized pieces.
  • Add your tofu pieces into a mixing bowl and add in soy sauce, sesame oil and rice vinegar. Mix until well combined.
  • Toss your tofu pieces with almond flour or bread crumbs until each piece is nicely coated.
  • Add into your air fryer at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes.
  • While your tofu is in the air fryer, you can prepare the sauce by adding all the sauce ingredients into a small bowl and mixing very well.
  • When your tofu is finished, mix in the sauce and sesame seeds (optional) so that the tofu is nicely coated in the delicious red sauce.
  • Enjoy!

3. Fried sweet potato

Ingredients:

  • sweet potato, peeled
  • 1 tsp oil
  • Seasonings of choice! I used salt and garlic powder.

Instructions:

  • Cut your sweet potato into long and thin shapes.
  • In a big bowl, add oil and your favourite seasonings and toss well.
  • Add into the air fryer for 20-30 minutes at 400 degrees F.
  • Season cooled fries with garlic salt, sea salt or seasoning of your choice.

4. Buffalo Cauliflower Wings

Ingridients:

  • 1/4 head of cauliflower, washed
  • 1/4 a cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/2 a cup non-dairy milk or water
  • 1 cup bread crumbs

Instructions:

  • Chop off the stem of the cauliflower and cut the cauliflower into small bite-sized pieces. Add into a large mixing bowl.
  • In a bowl, add 1/4 a cup all purpose flour, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of paprika Mix well.
  • Add the non-dairy milk or water into the dry ingredients and mix until well-combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the cauliflower and toss until cauliflower is well-coated (you can coat each individual piece of cauliflower separately).
  • Add bread crumbs and toss until they’ve nicely coated each piece of cauliflower.
  • Air fry at 350 degrees F for about 20-25 minutes,

5. Kale Chips

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch kale, washed
  • 1 tsp oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)

Instructions:

  • Cut off the stems of the kale and then cut or rip the kale into bite-sized pieces (or slightly bigger as they will get smaller).
  • Add into a large mixing bowl, then add oil, salt, garlic powder and other optional spices to your liking. Toss well.
  • Air fry at 370 degrees F for about 8 minutes and your ready for crispy greens!

6. Air Fried Falafel

Ingredients:

  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 large onion or 1/2 medium onion
  • 1 can chickpeas – drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, stems cut off
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2-3 tbsp all purpose flour or gluten free flour
  • few sprays of oil (optional).

Instructions:

  • Add garlic and onion into a food processor and chop finely.
  • Add chickpeas, parsley, cumin, pepper, paprika and salt into the food processor. Process until well-combined (you may have to move things around to allow everything to blend well-together).
  • Take out the mixture and add into a large mixing bowl. Add 1 tbsp of flour at a time, while mixing until desired consistency. You don’t want the mixture to be too wet but not too dry.
  • Form small round balls around the size of a tablespoon.
  • Using an oil spray, spray a small amount of oil onto each ball (this part is optional).
  • Air fry at 380 degrees F for about 15 minutes, flipping/shaking half way through. The finished product should be slightly browned on the outside.

7. Veggie Mini Corn Dog

Ingredients (8 mini corn dogs):

Batter ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornmeal
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup soy milk
  • 3 tbsp applesauce
  • 1/3 cup bread crumbs
  • 4 veggie dogs (I used Yves brand)
  • 8 wooden skewers (I used wooden chopsticks and coffee stir sticks)

Instructions:

  • Prepare the batter by mixing the dry ingredients together. Then add in the wet ingredients and mix until well-combined.
  • Cut the veggie dogs in half and insert a skewer into each piece.
  • On a plate, spread the bread crumbs out.
  • Wet your hands with a little water (Optional) keep a small bowl of water so you can wet your hand before you batter each veggie dog.
  • Use your hands/fingers to cover the veggie dogs with the batter.
  • Once the veggie dog is nicely coated with the batter, roll it through the bread crumbs to coat.
  • Place the corn dogs inside the air fryer (I cooked 4 at a time) and air fry at 370 degrees F for 12 minutes.
  • Serve immediately with some ketchup and mustard! (optional)

8. Roasted Red Pepper & Tomato Sauce for Pasta

Ingredients (1-2 servings of pasta sauce):

  • 1 red bell pepper, cut in half and seeded
  • 2 ripe tomatoes, cut in half and stems removed
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • salt & pepper to taste

Instructions:

  • Add pinches of basil, oregano and salt & pepper onto the inside of each tomato piece.
  • Place bell pepper halves and tomato halves into the air fryer, inside facing up.
  • Air fry at 320 degrees F for about 20-25 minutes.
  • If you want faster results, increase the temperature and cook for less and check up on it every couple of minutas.
  • Add all ingredients into a food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
  • Use as pasta sauce!

9. Banana Doughnut Holes

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick of non-dairy butter
  • ½ a cup of sugar
  • 3 tbsp of flax/chia seed egg replacement (1 tbsp of chia or flax seed & 3 tbsp of water)
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of flour of your choice
  • 2 tsp of nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1 tsp of salt

For cinnamon sugar dust:

  • ½ a cup of sugar
  • ½ a cup of cinnamon  

Instructions for egg replacement: 

  • Mix 1 tbsp of powdered chia or flax seed with 3 tbsp of water.
  • Let it soak for 10 minutes until thicken consistency.

Instructions for doughnut holes:

  • In large mixing bowl incorporate 1 stick of non-dairy butter, ½ a cup of sugar, 3 tbsp of flax/chia seed egg replacement, 1 mashed banana, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 1 cup of flour of your choice, 2 tsp of nutritional yeast, 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1 tsp of salt.
  • Mix until a dough ball forms, place in seran wrap and pop into the freezer for 20 minutes.
  • Then take it out and form into bite size dough balls and roll them in sugar cinnamon dust.
  • Place into the air fryer at 370 degrees F for 15 minutes, let them cool and you’re ready to serve.

10. Buffalo Onion Rings

Ingredientes:

  • ½ cup of flour of your choice
  • 1 tbsp of chili pepper powder or paprika
  • 1 tbsp of cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp of onion powder
  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • 1 cup of breadcrumbs
  • 1 chopped onion

Instructions:

  • Mix all your dry ingredients and then incorporate ½ a cup of almond milk.
  • Once the ingredients are well incorporated and dunk each onion ring into mix.
  • Cover the ring with breadcrumbs and your favorite hot sauce.
  • Place batch of coated onions into the air fryer and cook at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes.
  • Let them cool and you’re ready to serve.  

11. Roasted Chickpeas

Ingredients:

  • 1 can of chickpeas
  • 1 tsp of olive oil
  • ½ a cup of your fav. vegan ranch seasoning

Instructions:

  • Drain and clean the chickpeas.
  • Spread the chickpeas in the cooking tray, set heat at 400 degrees F and cook for 12 minutes.  
  • Once cooled coat chickpeas with 1 teaspoon of olive oil and ½ a cup of your fav. Vegan ranch seasoning.
  • Pop chickpeas back into the air fryer at 400 degrees F for 5 minutes.
  • Let them cool and you’re ready to serve.

12. Layer Vegan Burrito Samosa Style

Ingredients:

  • 1 potato
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ½ a shallot
  • ½ a serrano pepper
  • 1 tbsp of spicy black beans
  • ¼ a cup of cooked brown rice
  • 2 tbsp of garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp of paprika  
  • 1 tsp of cumin  
  • 2 flour tortillas
  • 2 tsp of almond milk
  • Non-dairy daiya cheddar style shreds

Instructions:

  • Boil 1 potato and on a separate pan saute 2 garlic cloves½ a shallot and ½ a serrano pepper until brown.
  • Once veggies are browned, add your chopped boiled potato, 1 tbsp of spicy black beans, ¼ a cup of cooked brown rice, 2 tbsp of garlic powder, 1 tbsp of paprika and 1 tsp of cumin.  
  • Once combined set aside, take 2 flour tortillas; cut one of the into a triangle shape.
  • Fill the middle of the regular tortilla with rice veggie filling from earlier.Then place the triangle tortilla on top.
  • Coat the insides of the regular tortilla with almond milk, then fold and stick the regular tortilla ends onto the triangle tortilla.
  • Now you should have formed a triangle shaped pastry that’s completely sealed. Coat the top of it with some almond milk so it will gold when air fried.
  • Cook for 10 minutes at 350 degrees F, let it cool and you are ready to serve.

NOTE: Don’t waste the tortilla cutouts, air fry them for 1 minute or so and you have some nice tortilla chips.

13. Vegan Frittata

Ingredients:

  • 2 to 3 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 tbsp of chives
  • 1 small chopped potato

Ingredients for egg substitute:

  • ¼ a cup of mix veggie
  • ½ a block of soft tofu
  • 2 tbsp of nutritional yeast
  • 1 tsp of black pepper
  • 1 tbsp of garlic powder
  • 2 tsp of tapioca flour
  • 1 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp of turmeric

Instructions:

  • In a pan at medium high heat add  2 to 3 chopped garlic cloves, 1 tbsp of chives and 1 small chopped potato.
  • Add about 3 tbsp of water and let it simmer until potatoes are soft.
  • In a blender or food processor mix all the ingredients for egg substitution until it turns into a creamy consistency.
  • Incorporate mix with potatoes, garlic and chives in the hot pan.
  • Once incorporated, place in the air fryer cooking pan and cook for 10 minutes at 350 degrees F.
  • Let it cool and it’s ready to eat.   

15. Vegan Egg Rolls

Ingredients:

  • ½ a bag of asian stir fry veggies
  • ½ a cup of bean sprouts
  • Vegan egg roll wraps
  • ⅓ a cup of chopped garlic and onion combo
  • 2 tsp of tapioca starch
  • 2 tbsp of water
  • 1 tsp of rice vinegar
  • 2 to 3 tbsp of soy sauce
  • 1 tsp of sugar
  • 2 to 3 tsp of almond milk

Instructions:

  • In a pan at medium high heat saute the ⅓ a cup of chopped garlic and onion combo with 1 tsp of olive oil and cook until brown.
  • Mix 2 tsp of tapioca starch with 2 tbsp of water and add ½ a bag of asian stir fry veggies and ½ a cup of bean sprouts to the pan along with the tapioca mix.
  • Stir often; mix 1 tsp of rice vinegar, 2 to 3 tbsp of soy sauce and 1 tsp of sugar; then add to the pan.
  • Cook thoroughly until browned and set aside for asebeling.
  • Take 1 vegan egg roll wrap and place 2 to 3 tbsp of filling in the middle.
  • With a finger coat wrap edges with water so it sticks; then like a diamond roll the wrap to the middle.
  • Once there tuck in both right and left corners and finish rolling. Coat the top part of the roll with almond milk so it will gold.
  • Leave about an inch between each roll when placing them in the air fryer.
  • Cook in the air fryer for 10 minutes at 350 degrees F. Let it cool and serve with your fav. Dipping sauce.

16. Jalapeno Poppers

Ingredients:

  • Non-dairy mozzarella
  • Jalapeno
  • 1 small bag of gluten free chips
  • ⅓ a cup of nutritional yeast  
  • 1 cup of unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup of all purpose flour

Instructions:

  • Slit your jalapenos down the middle but DON’T chop or cut them, keep them a whole pepper and de-seed them.
  • Stuff them with enough non dairy mozzarella that you can close the pepper.
  • Keep your milk, powdered or crushed chips and flour in different containers.
  • Dunk stuffed jalapenos into the almond milk and then coat with the flour.
  • Let dry for a couple of seconds and dunk in almond milk again; then coat with powdered/crushed chips.
  • Cook at 380 degrees F for 10 minutes and let them cool. Serve with your fav. Dipping sauce!

17. Air Fried Plantain Chips

Ingredients:

  • 1 green plantain
  • 2 to 3 tsp of garlic powder
  • 2 tsp of almond oil

Instructions:

  • Peal the plantain and cut into thin shapes.
  • Season the plantain pieces with 2 to 3 tsp of garlic powder, as to your preference.
  • Coat the top of the plantains with almond milk.
  • Pop in the air fryer at 450 degrees F for 12 minutes. Let them cool and dig in!

18. Vegan Pigs in a Blanket

Ingredients:

  • 1 vegan sausage
  • Vegan dough squares (cut into triangles)
  • 2 to 3 tsp of almond milk

Instructions:

  • Cut vegan sausage in half or in 4 for small pieces
  • Line dough with almond milk so it will stick when rolled.
  • Roll sausage with dough triangles
  • Cook half the batch at a time leaving at least 1 inch of space in between each roll.
  • Set heat at 400 degrees F for 7 minutes, let them cool and serve with your fav. Dipping sauce!

19. Air Fried Squash

Ingredients:

  • 1 squash
  • 1 tbsp of powdered chia or flax seed
  • 3 tbsp of water.
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of cajon pepper powder
  • ½ a cup of cornmeal
  • ½ a cup of flour

Instructions for egg replacement:

  • Mix 1 tbsp of powdered chia or flax seed with 3 tbsp of water.
  • Let it soak for 10 minutes until thicken consistency.

Instructions:

  • Chop the squash into ⅓ of an inch.shapes.
  • Mix 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of cajon pepper powder ½ a cup of cornmeal and ½ a cup of flour.
  • Dunk squash pieces into egg replacement and coat with flour mix.
  • Place squash pieces about an inch apart from each other and cook at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes.
  • Let them cool, salt or season to your preference and you’re ready to serve.

Purchases may be returned within 45 days of the date your order was received and must be unused, unassembled and in the original condition and packaging for any refunds issued. Please allow up to 2 business days for your return to be inspected and processed before your payment method is credited.
