Blackberry Hand Pies recipe

INGREDIENTS:

Egg

1

Refrigerated pie dough

1 package(for filling)

Cinnamon

½ teaspoon

Lemon juice

2 tablespoon

All-purpose flour

3 tablespoon

Sugar

¼ cup

Fresh blackberries

12 oz(for Icing)

Powder sugar

1 cup

Lemon

INSTRUCTIONS:

For Filling:
    • Rinse the blackberries and lay them on a plate covered with a paper towel;
    • Set to the side for 1 hour to allow berries to dry;
    • Cut them in half, and place them in a medium bowl;
    • Add in the sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and flour, and toss to combine;
    • Pour your blackberry mix into a medium saucepan cook on medium;
    • Mash the berries with a potato masher until lightly chunky;
    • Turn off the heat and set to the side.
    Pie Directions:
    • Using your counter top or cutting board spread flour on top to coat;
    • Lay the pie crusts and gently roll them out to ¼" thickness;
    • Use a LARGE circle cookie cutter cut out 6 circles;
    • Place the circles of dough on a baking sheet;
    • Place 1 tbsp of filling in the center of the pie dough;
    • Brush the edges of the pie dough with beaten egg;
    • Fold the dough over, and press the dough down with your fingertips to seal closed;
    • Using a fork press around the edges to leave indentations on the edges;
    • Brush the top of the pies with beaten egg;
    • Sprinkle the top with sugar lightly;
    • Place two at a time in the air fryer and cook on 380°F for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and flaky;
    Icing Directions:
    • Add icing ingredients in a small bowl.
    • Mix with a whisk until well combined.
    • Let cool slightly and top with icing drizzle.
